Veripath’s 2025 Portfolio Carbon Report examines the role conservation farming practices play in supporting soil health and carbon capture across its farmland holdings. The report highlights the widespread adoption of minimum and zero-tillage methodologies across the Canadian Prairies and their contribution to regenerative agricultural systems.
Across approximately 141,000 acres of farmland in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario, Veripath portfolios maintain a 94% adoption rate of minimum or zero-tillage practices. These approaches are associated with improved soil structure, increased biomass retention, and measurable carbon sequestration. Based on satellite verification of tillage practices, the portfolio is estimated to capture approximately 39,801 tons of carbon annually, illustrating how modern agricultural practices can contribute to both productive farmland and environmental outcomes.
The report provides insight into how conservation agriculture is being implemented at scale across institutional farmland portfolios and highlights the intersection between long-term soil stewardship, sustainable farming practices, and farmland investment.
