Interesting data on the growth of the asset class and yet how little institutional capital is actually deployed in the space. According to Forbes “In 2015, public pension funds, endowment funds, foundations and private pension funds represented more than 10% of all institutional ownership of farmland. By October 2020, institutional investment in farmland had grown to $11.7 billion—almost five times higher than all institutional investment in farmland just a decade before. As of Spring 2022, an estimated $8.7 billion of institutional investor farmland funds had been raised in the past five years.”
